Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.
In this fast-paced, information-overloaded world, knowledge is at our fingertips. A click of a button can give us the know-how on a wide range of topics. But can a child of God live a victorious life by just leaning on these understandings? No, a surrendered life of trust in God and His Word is the key!
When Peter received the invitation to walk on water, his own understanding said that a human cannot walk on water, so he should not even dare try. But the voice of Truth said, “Peter, come, walk on water with Me!” That one moment of absurd trust in the Lord made Peter the only man ever in the history of humankind to walk on water with his own naked feet.
In the same way, we must also trust Him with all our hearts. Because He is the Almighty God, worthy of all our trust, we must not pick and choose when and where to trust Him. We must trust Him in everything, from the little to the big challenges in life. Since we have the assurance that He is a promise-keeper, we can confidently commit our future to Him (Psalms 37:5). We must lean on Him, resting, trusting, and putting our whole weight on Him.
Remember, God is omniscient. So, He knows the end from the beginning of every single dilemma you face today. Are you struggling with trust? Then, be honest and talk to your Father, “Lord, help my unbelief” (Mark 9:24). And He will renew and restore your trust in Him once again.
Pause and think: Do you want to be like Peter? Or do you want to be like the other 11 disciples in the boat who did not take the risk of trusting Jesus enough? Let’s be like Peter and experience wonders, walking by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).

What a beautiful and comforting devotion. I appreciated the way this piece gently reminded readers that trust is not just a momentary decision, but a daily posture of the heart. The reflections here felt grounded and tender, inviting us to lean into God’s faithfulness even when the path seems uncertain. It resonated with me personally, and I imagine it will bring peace to many others navigating seasons of waiting or uncertainty. Thank you for this uplifting message!
