Trust in God’s Timing

Psalm 37:7

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

We live in times when evil often appears to prosper. Dishonesty, deception, and wicked schemes sometimes lead to wealth and long life, seemingly untouched by justice. From the outside, such lives look successful, yet Scripture reminds us that “wealth gained hastily will dwindle” (Proverbs 13:11). Greed only breeds more greed, and those who pursue riches through lies never find true satisfaction. As Paul warns, “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil” (1 Timothy 6:10).

The prosperity of the wicked is temporary, but the consequences are eternal. A life built apart from God leads to spiritual emptiness and, ultimately, separation from Him. In contrast, those who belong to the Lord find peace in knowing that He is alive, sovereign, and actively working on their behalf. Our future is secure in His hands.

When we rest in Him and patiently trust His timing, we align ourselves with the best plan possible. God calls us to walk in righteousness, obey His ways, and rely on His grace. As Romans 8:28 assures us, “all things work together for good to those who love God.” Even when the world thrives through compromised values, we are strengthened by the truth given to us through the Holy Spirit.

Let us not grow weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Even when no one is watching, God sees. He is faithful, and He will reward those who remain steadfast. Therefore, “let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23).
