Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.
This scripture is widely used as a principle for parenting. However, it’s not just about parenting but more than that; it’s about discipleship. Training means intentional, consistent direction. It’s more than advice. It is about leading a lifestyle that shows Christ’s love.
When we teach God’s Word, demonstrate His love and forgiveness, and live in integrity, we lay a foundation that remains. The promise is that when truth takes root, it will not be forgotten, even if there are detours in life’s journey.
Discipleship is not a one-time lesson but a daily walk with the Teacher. It requires patience, perseverance, and grace. Just as a gardener tends to young plants, we can nurture our faith by turning our hearts toward Christ, again and again. Even when growth is gradual, we know that God’s Word is powerful, shaping lives in unseen ways.
Today, if you feel far away from God, know that your Heavenly Father is calling you to His way of life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. No matter your path, God is inviting you to start afresh. As we obey and walk with Him, He will train us and help us grow in His Word.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, guide my steps in Your way. Keep my heart steady and my life’s testimony grounded in Your truth. Amen.
Thank you Lord teach me everyday, lead me towards you in all situations. Amen 🙌
