God’s Calling for Your Life

1 Corinthians 1:27

God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty.

No one is worthless in God’s sight. God used ordinary, flawed individuals to transform the world. He used Moses, who struggled to speak, to lead Israel to the promised land. David faced Goliath with only a slingshot and trust in God. God chose Peter, a fisherman, to lead His church and to become a fisher of men.

Most of Jesus’ disciples were simple, uneducated people. They lacked social status and religious training. Yet their boldness astounded the religious authorities. God used them to advance the gospel. In each instance, the person’s effectiveness resulted from their willingness to be used by God, not from their own skills, wisdom, or status.

God’s power is manifested in human weakness. God chooses those who are willing and available, not just the smartest or brightest. God calls all of us to advance His kingdom – no qualification needed. Just a willingness to serve in any magnitude.

It is never too late to discover God’s plan for our lives. We may often feel unprepared; however, God’s plan depends on His greatness, not ours. Let us stay ready to follow God’s lead and step outside our comfort zone. True worship occurs when we offer our lives for His purpose.

Prayer: Father, thank You for choosing the weak and ordinary to reveal Your greatness. Let Your power be evident in our weakness. Teach us to trust Your plan, even when we feel unprepared. Shape our lives according to Your purpose. Use us for the advancement of Your kingdom and to bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
