Isaiah 40:31
Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
“Wait” – a word that’s not particularly what anyone likes to hear! However, waiting on the Lord is not a passive waiting or leaning on your own independent resources. Waiting on the Lord produces a renewal of strength.
We are also promised that we shall mount up (or soar, as some translations say) like eagles. As we soar, we gain the ability to view our circumstances from a completely different perspective. While waiting, if we rely on our own strength, we get tired, drained, and hopeless. Waiting on God, however, assures us strength as we walk, and no weariness as we run.
Did you notice, this waiting on God involves “soaring”, “running”, and “walking”? This is perseverance and endurance with our eyes fixed on the One whose strength is made perfect in our weakness and for whom nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37). There are also times when God instructs us to “stand still and see the deliverance of the Lord” (2 Chronicles 20:17). When we are at the end of our rope, His power is made manifest to sustain our waiting.
Only submit to the Lordship of Jesus, trust Him, listen to His leading, and obey Him! Ephesians 3:20 (AMP) says, “Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]“.
Child of God, your destination could be exceedingly, abundantly more than you could ask or think!
