What are you doing with your talents?

Matthew 25:15:  And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

The master in this story gave his servants his own goods and went on a long journey.  What they did out of what they received is what encourages the reader.  Two of the servants fared well, but the third one did not.  He wondered what he could do with the talent he received from his master.

God has given to everyone of us some talents or skills or abilities.  What we do with them is absolutely important in our life.  God expects results in our life with the gifts He has given to us.  We have to put our time, talent, and treasure for effective and productive use in His kingdom.  He does not want to see us lazy or unproductive with what we have received from Him.  Our gifts can be anything like praying, encouraging, singing, preaching, giving, communicating, etc.  What we do with it is what matters the most to God.  He gives to everyone according to his or her several ability. If God has given you some spiritual gift, it is because He trusts in your ability.  If you are a leader, that is because God sees you are able to handle it.  At the end of the day, He will definitely ask you for your accountability.

On the day of judgment, how many of us will be ready to face Him and be rewarded or condemned? We definitely do not want to be condemned, do we?  Therefore, let us use the gifts that God has deposited in our care.  Let us never put God down by not using it but instead let us lift His name up and use it all for His glory, so that He will entrust us with greater things.  Win His confidence and trust over yourself.
