Use your shield

Ephesians 6:16 – “In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.”

No soldier goes into battle unequipped. The commanders make sure every person in their battalion is suited up in their army fatigues, and geared up with the most advanced weaponry available. When the soldiers meet their enemies face to face, they have everything they need to win the fight. But it’s up to them to use those tools as and when required.

God has equipped us with everything we need to live in this world. We even have the full armor of God to fight against the devil when he tries to attack us. And yes, the devil does try very hard to attack us at every nook and corner. Every negative thought that enters our mind, every worry that spoils our peace and everything we fear about the future is a flaming dart from the evil one. He wants us to give in to our worries and fears, but God wants us to overcome them with the shield of faith He has given us.

The next time a negative thought enters your mind, counter it with a positive thought that reinforces your faith in God. When worry about the future threatens to steal your joy, speak out words that affirm how much you trust God. Don’t let your faith in God be dormant. It is an active part of the arsenal God has given you to fight the devil. Don’t let the arrows of the evil one penetrate your armor. Use your faith today!
