Have you seen the Lord?

John 20:17-18 – Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’” Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord”—and that he had said these things to her.

The verses above portray what happened soon after the resurrection of Jesus. Mary Magdalene had found the body of Jesus missing from the tomb. She panicked and ran to the disciples to convey the shocking news. They too came to  the tomb to confirm the same, but then went back to their homes. Mary however stayed back and wept outside the tomb. That’s when Jesus appeared and spoke these words to her.

Have you experienced the living Savior at work in your life? Have you seen the goodness of God firsthand? Have you witnessed the beauty of His presence in a difficult moment? Then you have seen the living God!

Our God’s not dead! He’s alive and actively working in our lives. And we who have seen His glory, heard His Word, tasted His goodness, and felt His touch are indeed blessed. But it is also our duty not to keep our experiences to ourselves. We need to go out into the world – our homes, institutions, workplaces, neighborhoods, and share our experience with others who may be looking for someone to save their souls. Speak out your testimony, write it down, share it with others and live it out. Let it be a way for others to know who Jesus is and the transforming work He can do in their lives!
