God doesn’t Forget

Hebrews 6:10 – “For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name.”

Have you put in a lot of time and effort to do good work, only to find that it goes unnoticed and unappreciated? So often, we go the extra mile and do something for others, but rarely do we get credit for it. In our dog eat dog world, people might not take the time to notice your work or appreciate the effort you’ve taken. But the kingdom of God is the exact opposite.

As today’s verse reminds us, God sees every single thing you do. He notices the good you do for others. When you serve God and His people wholeheartedly, it will not be in vain. Loving others as Christ loved us is an act of obedience, and God appreciates it. While people around you may not be aware of the numerous things you are doing, God pays attention.

It is our duty to be excellent in what we do because we serve an extraordinary God. The next time you feel all your work is in vain, take your focus off people and place it on God. Imagine it is God you are serving through your routine chores and mundane work. God, who sees your servant heart, will reward all your efforts.

“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.” – Colossians 3:23-24
