Ephesians 1:17-18—”That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,”

In this scripture, Paul addressed the holy ones in Ephesus. This is something we believers can meditate on for our lifestyles. We must look only to God for our existence and sustenance.

Paul was thankful to see the trust people had in Christ Jesus and their love toward the followers of Jesus. Paul asked God to:
– make the people intelligent and discerning.
God, through the Spirit of wisdom, can give revelation and insight into mysteries and secrets. This can help us know Him personally, deeply and intimately.
– make the people have their eyes focussed on Him.
God can make us see what we are called to do. God can make us grasp the immensity of the glorious life he has for us. God can make us understand the extravagance of His work in us, the endless energy and boundless strength!

By being focussed on God, the eyes of our heart will be enlightened to know and understand the hope that we have as God’s called out ones. We will appreciate the glorious inheritance to which His set-apart ones (holy people) are entitled. We will also know God’s incomparably great power for us who believe. What is that power? That power is the same as the power God exerted when he raised Christ from the dead! Mighty God we serve as His children. Do we act as a member, one from God’s family?
